Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrument & Electrician Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems, with a focus on safety and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance:

o Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, control systems, and instrumentation.

o Troubleshoot electrical faults and malfunctions in systems, equipment, and instrumentation.

o Test, calibrate, and adjust electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure optimal performance.

2. Installation & Commissioning:

o Install electrical wiring, components, and instrumentation as per design specifications.

o Assist with the commissioning of new electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring they meet operational standards and safety requirements.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs:

o Diagnose issues in electrical circuits, control systems, and instrumentation systems using test equipment and schematics.

o Provide immediate troubleshooting and repair services to minimize downtime and production delays.

4. Preventive Maintenance:

o Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure longevity and reliability.

o Complete calibration checks of devices and control loops

o Maintain records of maintenance activities and service logs, adhering to plant and regulatory standards.

5. System Upgrades & Modifications:

o Recommend and assist in upgrading or modifying existing electrical and instrumentation systems to improve efficiency or compliance.

o Assist in the design and development of new electrical and instrumentation systems for operational improvements

Qualifications:

o High School Diploma or equivalent required.

o Certification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field (e.g., Journeyman Electrician, Instrumentation Technician) preferred.

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Instrument & Electrician Technician or in a similar role within an industrial setting.

o Experience working with electrical and instrumentation systems in a chemical or process environment is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

o Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation.

o Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and instruments (multimeters, process calibrators, etc.).

o Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.

Certifications (preferred but not required):

o Licensed Electrician or equivalent.

o Instrumentation Technician certification.

o OSHA or other safety certifications.

  • Must pass Department of Homeland Security background check, pre-placement physical and pre-employment drug-screen.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.   

Working Conditions:

Must be able to work in various environments, including indoors and outdoors, with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature extremes. May be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, or with hazardous materials. Flexible working hours and the possibility of being on-call for emergency repairs.
