Job Description

Great Lakes Orthopedics is seeking a full-time experienced Orthopedic Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our team and to work in our St. John, Crown Point and Lowell offices.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome patients in a friendly welcoming manner.
• Performs patient triage to assess patient care needs.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information prior to providing direct patient care services and escort the patient to the exam room for treatment and care.
• Obtain patient histories, vitals, blood pressure, provide instruction and educate patients in accordance to physician directives.
• Perform dressing changes.
• Accurately documents in patient's medical record patient communication and conveys all medication concerns and/or adverse reaction to physician.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
• Graduate or acquired the skills and experience equivalent to a graduate of an approved Medical Assistant's program.
• Must have current CPR certification
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Orthopedic experience a plus.
